Monday was our last day at the foundation for this trip and the entire group is already missing the Ninos. We have made some new friends, learned some new Spanish, and learned that roosters in La Paz actually crow "Tak-it-Eazy". Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the Ninos de amor.
This trip we accomplished much this trip including getting the Internet operational at all buildings on the property, fixing warped doors and door frames, fixing drawers in the kitchen, installing a screen in the chapel, cleaning up the storage closet, the shed, and the library, painting the new sewing room and the front of the restaurant. We also ground coffee that was grown on the foundation's farm and will be sold in the store adjacent to the restaurant.
But most of all our number one priority was to spend time with the Ninos. To give them some of God's love and to further our own learning about what we can do to be children of God. We learned that one wants to be a nurse, another a secretary, a third a computer engineer. We think we may have found the next president of Honduras and at least one would make a great teacher (well, she was teaching us Spanish...) These kids like every other one in the world have dreams and aspirations and it is wonderful to be part of their lives.
Please pray for the ninos, for the foundation and for all the people who work at/for the foundation so they can help these kids grow up to realize their dreams.

Sunday - Day 3
Sunday
We worked on finishing the painting in the sewing room and finishing our projects. We finished in time for church service that was live-streamed on the internet from Oviedo. It was great to see a part of home.
After lunch we learned about coffee. They picked coffee beans from up in the mountains. Then they let the beans dry in the sun for a day. The next day they have grinders that take the shell off the bean. It all grinds into a container. They are able to use the wind to separate the shell from the bean. Once you have just the beans they roast the coffee. It is a truly amazing process.
Some of us went into the next town over, Comayagua. They have a church in the town center from 1650. It has the oldest clock tower in the Americas. An old painting of Bartholomew being skinned alive, it was very moving. They have power lines strung everywhere, 50 lines running between poles. Sometimes wires are held off the ground by window shutters.
After dinner the children had a good-bye program for us. It was a wonderful event.
We leave early in the morning to head back home.

Saturday
Hola, Today started off with me waking up and hour late because Jeremy didn't wake me up. Then the kid's from around town came for their weekly Saturday program. Today we did the story of David and Goliath. I happened to play Goliath because I happened to be the biggest person in the chapel. Patrick and Lawton painted the restaurant blue, Rhonda and Michelle painted the sewing room. Rick was still trying to get the internet working perfectly, and Jeremy was working in the apartments trying to get the air conditioning to work. The rest of us helped out Renee, Ruth and Hannah for the Saturday program. Then we went to La Paz in the weekend market, and we got the kids and some adults ice cream. Then most of us spent the day with the kids playing or doing crafts and coloring. TakeItEasy - Tio Winston

Friday (Day 2)
BUSY day today! The guys started digging the trench first thing this morning for the internet cable that they were running from the Foundation to restaurant. Only broke 2 water lines, got many blisters, but by dinner, the restaurant had internet! Meanwhile, the ladies were organizing closets, painting the sewing room and doing crafts with the kids. The weather is HOT during the day but thankfully cools off at night. The kids are wonderful and in good health. We are going to have trouble getting Ileana to leave. I had forgotten just how wonderful it is to be here with the kids. We went to the bank today to exchange our money. We don't realize what we take for granted until you walk into a bank here and get frisked by security and have armed guards let you into the building. Alejandra y Ali are sitting next to me as I type. The rest of the kids are jumping rope-it's a good night in Honduras... -Rhonda
